Mumbai: The ICC T20 World Cup 2022 will kick off in Australia on October 16 and the Indian cricket team will play a series before the tournament. (Team India Participate In Three More Tours)
According to a report in TOI, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has decided to conduct three more overseas tours after India’s tour of England in July and before the Men’s T20 World Cup 2022. Also, a T20 international will be played in the United Kingdom against the Men in Blue Ireland team.
Meanwhile, India will travel to the West Indies, Zimbabwe after the series against England and then participate in the Asia Cup in the United Arab Emirates. India’s 2022 tour of Sri Lanka starts on February 24 and ends on March 16. The Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 starts in the same month and ends in May, after which India will play a five-match T20 international. The home series against South Africa ends on June 19.
According to a report in TOI, the selection committee of the Board of Control for Cricket in India has already selected 35 players who will represent India internationally in the upcoming games.
“Discussions on bio-bubble breaks have already begun. Each player is informed of the busy journey. They are given time to think about when they want to rest.
In the upcoming tour, India will play mainly T20 internationals in preparation for the upcoming mega tournament in Australia.
Notably, India is playing these matches till the World Cup due to BCCI’s commitment to the member nations to generate revenue for their respective boards.
