Mumbai: A few hours before the start of the match, the Delhi Capitals team suffered a major setback. Delhi will take on Rajasthan Royals on Friday. The team will be without head coach Ricky Ponting just hours before the start of the match. A member of Ponting’s family has contracted coronary heart disease. That’s why Ricky Ponting has to be isolated.

According to the Delhi Capitals, Ponting himself had twice tested the corona. The test message was negative. But the team management and the medical team took this decision considering the interest of the team. Ponting will now stay in isolation for five days. Because he was in contact with the family. Due to this, he will not be with the team in today’s match against Rajasthan.

We respect the decision of Ponting and his family. We are keeping an eye on the nature of all the individuals who have so far tested positive in the bio-bubble. All this is expected to improve soon, Delhi Capitals said. Earlier, six members of the Delhi team were infected with the coronavirus.
