IPL 2022: Cricket fans around the world are currently waiting for the IPL 2022 mega auction. IPL 2022 is going to be a blast as not 8 but 10 teams will be seen playing in this tournament this season. But even before the IPL is held, Pakistan has obstructed it. Pakistan could lead some players out of the IPL.
The Indian Premier League (IPL) franchise is in a precarious position ahead of the mega auction due to Australia’s tour of Pakistan. The revised schedule of Pakistan’s three Tests, three ODIs, and one T20 international tour was approved after a meeting of CA directors on Friday. The month-long tour could see some of the key Australian players miss four to five possible matches in IPL 2022, raising questions for team owners.
Last month, BCCI secretary Jai Shah confirmed that the 15th season of the Indian Premier League would begin in the last week of March. According to CricketBuzz, the upcoming IPL players will have to go through a five-day quarantine, which means they will have to stay in the quarantine for at least 11 April. A franchise official said: “Some Australian players may be joining too late. It remains to be seen who will be selected for the tour. CA has not yet announced the squad for the Pakistan tour. It will be interesting to see the names of the players who will get a place on the team.
Many Australian players at auction
A total of 47 Australians, including top players like Pat Cummins, David Warner, Steve Smith, Mitchell Marsh, and Josh Hazlewood, have registered for the mega auction. The franchise, on the other hand, has retained Glenn Maxwell and Marcus Stoinis.
